Sloan’s Lake is Hot

In 1866, Thomas F. Sloan had a vision.  He filed homestead papers west of Denver with the intention of using the land for farming and ranching. In 1870 while digging a well, his small hole turned into a large lake.  In 1881 Manhattan Beach was developed on the lake complete with with roller coasters, a dance hall, and boating for all.

In 1908 the Manhattan Beach structure burned down and was rebuilt as Luna Park. Due to the popularity of Elitche’s and Lakeside, this park was largely abandoned in 1914.  A century later, on October 26, 2012, groundbreaking will take place for the new FREAMEWORK at Sloan’s Lake.
